  OUR STORY

The artist, Lane Scott has worked in photography and also creating knives for over 40 years, while at the same time, working in his other chosen profession, public education. A man of many talents, Lane has a Bachelor of Music Education degree, a Master of Education in Industrial Technology degree and several computer education certifications. During his forty plus years in education, Lane has taught all grades from kindergarten through graduate college level and adult education. Lane is recently retired from the position of Technology Director for the Coupland Independent School District. He now resides in Cedar Park, Texas.

Fascination for making knives began as he watched his grandfather in the 1950s make knives for his son-in-laws. His grandfather would create them using a vice with a cold chisel and hammer. He has some knives in the catalog named 'Papa Mayes Knife".

He has studied photography under Dr. Bill Leavitt in Texas, The Rocky Mountain School of Photography, and John and Barbara Gerlach of Montana and Michigan. As an avid outdoorsman, he has managed to combine his love of nature with a love of creativity by specializing in nature photography. His photographic subjects include mountains, seashores, trees, flowers, animals, insects, old buildings, windmills, farm implements, and almost anything outdoors. He takes color and black and white photographs with a digital camera, prints them on a high-quality printer on photo paper, and mats them with double mats. His work is available at area arts and crafts shows, by mail order, and on his web site – www.LaneScott.com
